Original Neopan Acros 100
Today is October 30th, 2024. I still have some original Neopan Acros in my fridge, and I am so glad about that!
I have not tried the Acros II that came out around 2019; it seems like the original characteristics are being kept.
For me, Acros's stand-out character was its fine grain and tonal range. I am trying to recollect my memories of this film as I have not shot or developed any for the past decade. But I definitely recall that when I saw the scanning result for the first time then, I was amazed deeply by the result.
I used Xtol, HC110, LC29 & Rodinal to develop Acros100 as experiments. Basically, all of the results were positive, but of different visual effects. I used Epson V700 & Silverfast 8 as the scanning tools.
Below are some of the examples:
Neopan Acros, 120, shot in asa 100
HC110 developer, 1+30 solution
5 min pre-soak with water
9.5 min development time
scan at 48 bits color with Epson V700 Pro scanner
No image editing
Acros100, 120, shot in asa 100
LC299 developer, 1+29 solution
5 min pre-soak with water
10 sec agitation for the first 5 min
scan at 48 bits color, 3600dpi with Epson V700 Pro scanner
No image editing
Acros100, 135, shot in asa 100
Rodinal 1+200 solution
5 min pre-soak with water
120 min stand development without agitation
scan at 48 bits color, 2400dpi with Epson V700 Pro scanner
No image editing
Acros100, 135, shot in asa 100
Xtol stock solution
5 min pre-soak with water
7 min development time without agitation
scan at 48 bits color, 2400dpi with Epson V700 Pro scanner
No image editing
All of the above images were not edited in post processing, but a certain degree of brightness/contrast control & sharpening may have taken place during scanning by the default setting.
I am looking forward to try out on the Acros 100 II in the future :)
Shooting with Qingdao 6 camera.
