Project - Shadow City

The “Slowness” enhances the “Brightness” which in turns creates the “Darkness”........

I was trying to present some feelings or emotion at other side of the reality time curve by distorting the logical relationship of time and space. Light, shadows, scenes….all blended together for a place in the two dimensional frame.

I used the camera like a video recorder and tried to capture the 3D city into 2D images.

One of the masters of modern age photography had mentioned that there are 4Ds in a picture…the normal 3Ds we well aware of and color. What I was doing here was to put TIME element into the images as the 5th D.

I enjoyed doing this. It felt like I was painting with a time capturing paint brush! And the effect resembled, in a certain degree, the style of traditional Chinese wash painting.
